Hi, I'm James. I'm a design strategist with a passion for solving complex problems.
My journey began at Northumbria University where I graduated with a first class degree in Industrial Design. Since then, I have honed my skills as a competent strategist working agency side for over eight years. I have been lucky enough to work with some of the biggest brands in consumer tech, healthcare, FMCG and mobility on some fascinating projects.
I'm passionate about exploring the complex interplay between human behaviour and emerging technologies. As technology continues to advance at a rapid pace, it's essential to ensure that design solutions remain aligned with fundamental human needs. By bridging this gap, we can create solutions that are not only technologically advanced but also truly meaningful and impactful for users.

As foresight lead in my previous agency, I can confidently manage projects or phases with a futures component. I actively track a large number of trends and review reports across social, lifestyle, tech, and design and use my own processes to make them robust and actionable for your specific challenge.
2. Antidote to ambiguity
Cutting through complexity is my bread and butter. Whatever the problem, I thrive in quick, collaborative projects with expert teams where there is a need to untie knotty strategic issues. Having learnt from the best in my last gig, framing a challenge with clear dimensions and frameworks has a funny way of helping things run a lot smoother.

I’m a creative and thorough researcher who ensures the business and learning objectives stay front of mind. Beyond basic research summaries and verbatims – I’m used to developing actionable strategic implications and bringing the voice of the consumer into the room.

Coming from a product design background I can mix creativity with strategic rigor. Projects that relate to the design of physical and digital products are well within my wheelhouse.
